What’s In My Makeup Bag?

Hi loves,

I have been so busy this summer, I had to push aside The Sassy Brunette for a while and deal with a very hectic schedule. I have been doing some really different makeup styles this summer as well that I wanted to share with everyone! I know I get a lot of questions about the products I use and I haven’t found the time to put it all together for you guys, but I finally did it!

I linked all my absolute favorite products I am currently using, or currently in my makeup bag. So I will take you through my routine and show you guys what I love to use ๐Ÿ™‚

What's In My Makeup Bag

First things first, I do not use moisturizer…which I know is a sin, but I have really sensitive skin and I found that any moisturizer I use causes me to break out. So in order to give myself a barrier from skin and makeup, I use this NYX Hydra Touch Primer. I think its really great because it doesn’t irritate my skin, and gives it the touch of hydration I need without leaving a oily base that I wouldn’t want in my makeup look.

For my foundation, I use NYX BB Cream. This is a super light alternative when I do not want a lot on my skin, I also ALWAYS mix this with my foundation because it tends to be too thick and this creates a lighter texture and matches my skin tone best.

For foundation I use IT Cosmetics CC Full Coverage Cream. This stuff is AMAZING. An old friend put me onto this brand, and it has been nothing but great. It is perfect for troubled skin, because this is actually not a foundation. It feels much lighter than a foundation but covers everything! It is also anti-aging and hydrating, with a high SPF of 50. This is what I mix with the NYX BB Cream just to make it lighter on my skin.

Concealer!! I try my best not to use concealer because it is so thick on my skin, but for the days I need it, I use MAC Studio Fix Concealer. This stuff is the real deal, so only a little under the eyes is my go-to.

For my eyeshadow primer I always use, Urban Decay EyeShadow Primer Potion. Its so important to use a good primer to make sure your eyeshadow stays on your eyes! This one is pretty good, it stays 24 hours. I put it on my eyebrows as well to keep my eyebrow filler on longer.

For eyeshadow, I have a lot of palettes but Morphe 350 has been my go-to for a while now. I really like the warm colors, I don’t really branch out with different eyeshadow colors because warm looks the best with my dark eyes. This brand is pretty good pigment and inexpensive.

Any contour I do, I use with this palette. Park Avenue Princess by Tarte, I recently bought this because I like the highlight powders. I actually use the light colors to set my foundation and then blend with the bronzers. I like it so far, I will add that the bronzers are pretty difficult to blend well but it works for me!

I LOVE bronzer, so I have several different ones. Hoola Bronzer by Benefit, this one has been amazing, I use it for lighter days and I build with the other palette as well to get a good definition.

The Colossal Volum’ Express by Maybelline. If you know me well, you know that I have been using this brand of mascara since I started using mascara… I absolutely love it, it gives me the lift and fullness I want. I am sure there are brands out there better but I am too happy to try something else. This stuff is also available at drugstores, which is great because I switch mine out every month or two!!

Now for the most important part… brows. I use the mechanical pencil by MAC in the color Spiked. I tried other brands, but this one lasts the longest and since it has a precision point, I can create small lines so its just amazing. This is one of the items in my makeup bag that I will always have and use.

I play with a lot of highlighter, this one has been really great for my because it shows up the most but looks the most natural. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter.

Lastly, I know I mentioned this lip liner before but I have to add it in here again because it really is my favorite ever. NYX Slide On Lip Pencil, its smear proof and waterproof, matte texture. I put this on before I apply any other liners or lipsticks.

So there you have it! I obviously have lots of more makeup that I use, but these have been my favorite and give me the best results. I hope you enjoy!

Love, The Sassy Brunette
